Malcolm E. Spence, III is a native of Ft. Lauderdale Florida and is the son of Kay and Malcolm E. Spence, II.
He entered WV State College (University) in the fall of 1986 and received his B.S. Degree in Communications in 1992. He later received his M.S. Degree in Leadership Education from Nova Southeastern University
Malcolm joined the Yellow Jackets football team as a walk-on his freshman year at WVSU.
Not only did Malcolm excel in track and football the years he attended “State” but, he was also nominated for “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges” in 1990-91.
In 1991, Malcolm signed as a Free Agent with the Canadian Football League’s British Columbia Lions and in 1992 he was a Territorial Draft Pick of the Professional Spring Football League’s Washington Marauders.
Malcolm taught English for 13 years at Boyd H. Anderson High School in Florida, which is his Alma Mater.
In high school he was coached by Terry Atkinson (WVSU Hall of Fame
Inductee 2004) and is currently an Assistant Principal at Blanche Ely High School.
As an educator for the last 20 years, Malcolm is passionate in assisting student/athletes obtain admission to institutions to further their academic and athletic careers.
He was as initiate of TAU Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., in 1988 and is an active member of the Ft. Lauderdale Alumni Chapter.
He is married to the former Amanda Joy Carter and is the proud father of Chrishlen Sade, Amaya Faith, and Malcolm E. Spence, IV.
