The WVSU basketball teams continue their northern swing with Saturday games at West Liberty

The women start at 2:00 p.m. and will be looking to repeat the results from the season's first meeting of the squads.

After leading by just 41-40 at halftime the Yellow Jackets broke open the game with a 24-9 third quarter on the way to a 90-64 victory.

Point guard Shae Hines had a big game with 27 points and seven assists. Shealyn Shafer added 14 points and a career high 18 rebounds while Sydney Bates contributed 15 points.

The men's contest follows at 4:00 p.m. with the Yellwo Jackets taking on the #3 Hilltoppers.

WVSU gave West Liberty all it could handle in the January 3 meeting as the Jackets rallied from a 20-point second half deficit to with five with 30 seconds to play before losing 100-93.

Sophomore Brent Bauer led WVSU with 28 points and five assists but is questionable for Saturday after twisting an ankle last week.

Ernie Jenkins had 18 points and Sable Cooper came off the bench to score 13 in the last meeting. DeQuan Doyle had eight points and was big on the boards with 13 rebounds as the Yellow Jackets out-rebounded the taller Hilltoppers 44-35.
