The Yellow Jacket women's tennis team threw a scare into Atlantic Region top seed California-Pa., the number 26 ranked team in Division II, Sunday in the regional final on the Vulcans' home courts.

In the end it came down to a couple of doubles matches as WVSU dropped second doubles 8-6 and third doubles 9-7 to fall behind 3-0 entering singles play.

Though the final score would end up 5-0 in favor of the hosts the Yellow Jackets held good leads on three singles courts at the end. NCAA tournament matches cease play when one team reaches five points.

WVSU advanced to the round of 32 for the fourth straight time and wraps up the year 17-3 with all three losses coming against nationally ranked opponents
