The WVSU women's tennis team earned the Mountain East Conference automatic qualifier spot in the NCAA tournament by winning the MEC tournament last fall.
Tuesday night the bid was made official when the Yellow Jackets were selected as the fourth seed in the NCAA Atlantic Region.
The 16-2 Yellow Jackets will face fifth seeded Slippery Rock (13-9) at noon Saturday at California University of Pennsylvania. The winner will face host Cal-Pa. at noon Sunday with a spot in the final 16 in Denver, Colorado, the following weekend.

Brittany Franco. The MEC Player of the Year has a 16-2 record this year. Freshman
Laura Isbey handles the #2 singles spot with sophomore
Nina Dillwald at #3. Both were All-MEC selections in the fall.
