Nationally Ranked Women's Tennis Signs Three

West Virginia State University women's tennis coach John Simms has announced the signing of three players to National Letters of Intent during November's early signing period.

The Yellow Jackets added Lindsay Goff from Hurricane, Kierstin Hensley from Russell High in Kentucky, and Marta Yevstakhevych from the Ukraine.

Goff has advanced to the West Virginia High School state tournament every year and advanced to at least the semifinals each time.

"It is important that we sign the top players from our area each year and with the addition of Lindsay I believe we have done that," Coach Simms said. "Adding Kierstin also brings one of the best players in our region to the etam."

Hensley and her partner won the Kentucky State High School doubles championship in 2014 and have captured their regional title every season.

Yevstakhevych has advanced to the semifinals of the Ukrainian national tournament three times during her junior career.

"She has a very strong all around game," Simms said. "Marta should do very well here."

The Yellow Jackets won their fourth straight conference championship and tournament this past fall and are currently ranked #47 nationally.
