The WVSU women's tennis team opened defense of its MEC championship by going on the road to defeat Shepherd 9-0 Friday and UVa-Wise 8-1 Sunday.
     The Yellow Jackets ran their conference winning streak to 26 matches along the way.
     This Saturday the squad is hosting a "Meet-the-Team" Fundraiser  at 6 p.m. For a $20 donation fans can enjoy snacks, soft drinks, door prizes, and tennis with the players.
