Craig Named WVIAC Player of Week

Unbeaten in singles, doubles for the week

PRINCETON, W. Va. – West Virginia State senior women's tennis standout Brittany Craig has been named the WVIAC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Craig helped guide the Yellow Jackets to a 4-0 week while playing the top spot in singles and doubles play.

The Atlanta, Ga., native helped the team knock off preseason WVIAC favorite Charleston by winning 6-3, 6-2 at singles and 9-7 in doubles. She then downed her Davis & Elkins foe 7-5, 6-0 in singles and teamed with Ana Juarez for an 8-3 doubles win.

Craig won her singles match against WV Wesleyan 6-1, 6-3 and paired with Juarez to win 8-3. In the win over Fairmont State, Craig won 6-1, 6-4 in singles and 8-3 in doubles with Juarez.
