The Yellow Jacket women's basketball team fell behind early to visiting Notre Dame in Saturday's opening game at the Walker Convocation Center.

Though they fought back WVSU ended up losing 80-70.

In the second game the men's squad led by as many as 12 points early in the second half before a late rally vaulted the visitors to a 91-82 win.

Rachel Ward scored 18 points and Shealyn Shafer 17 to lead the the Jacket women.

Terrance Jenkins led the WVSU men with 22 points, Frank Webb 21, and Markee Mazyck 17 along with 13 rebounds.
