Pair of Wins Propels Yellow Jackets into Championship Showdown

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

The last two days the Yellow Jackets have shown themselves to be a very different team from the one that lost to Concord on the opening day of the double-elimination Mountain East Conference baseball tournament.
Sunday the Jackets hope to show Shepherd they are a different team than the one the Rams beat three times in an early season four game series.
Saturday WVSU completed its trip through the ever dangerous elimination bracket with a 7-0 win over Notre Dame and a 7-1 pasting of the same Mountain Lion squad that beat the Jackets 13-8 Thursday.
WVSU will now face Shepherd at 1 p.m. needing to defeat the Rams twice to repeat as MEC champs.
Tyler Hall went the distance in Saturday's first game while Jamison Jones drove in two runs on four hits and Phillip Mandt belted a two-run home run.
In the second game Jones knocked in two more on three hits with Tyler Payne also driving in a pair.
