Thompson Gem Keeps Jackets' Hopes Alive

With elimination staring them in the face after Thursday's loss to Concord the Yellow Jackets handed the ball to their ace for Friday afternoon's meeting with West Virginia Wesleyan in the Mountain East Conference baseball tournament.
Tyler Thompson delivered leading WVSU to a 7-0 win.
The senior right-hander extended his scoreless inning streak to 29.1 with a three hit, nine strikeout complete game.
Thompson walked just one in improving to 9-1 on the season.
The Jackets backed him up with 11 hits as Jordan Simpson, Tyler Payne, and Jamison Jones each accounted for two.
WVSU now faces Notre Dame at 3 p.m. in a rematch of last season's title game won by the Yellow Jackets.
