Jackets Rally to Earn Split, Hold on to Second Place

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Tyler Hall allowed just one run in five innings of work in the Yellow Jackets first game against visiting Notre Dame College Friday afternoon.
But the visitors matched his performance, forced extra innings, and ended up taking game one 2-1with an unearned run in the top of the ninth. Trenton Porter had three hits and Josh Kiser drove in the lone WVSU run.
The loss briefly knocked the Jackets out of second place as they had edged a few percentage points ahead of Notre Dame by sweeping a doublebeader at Concord Thursday.
The Yellow Jackets recovered, regrouped, and retook second though with a 5-0 victory in the nightcap.
Eric Roberts went the distance throwing a two-hitter.
Kiser and Phil Mandt each had two hits while Jordan Simpson drove in two runs to pace the offense.
