Box Score 4 WVSU dominated the diamond in Mountain East Conference action Sunday with softball taking a pair of games from visiting West Liberty and the Jackets' baseball squad winning twice at Urbana.
The softball team scored four times in the second inning to take control of game one on the way to a 7-3 win.
Sydney Kaplan supplied the big hit with a three-run double with two outs.
Kaplan also drove in another run and
Alana Weyant knocked in two with a single and solo home run.
Pitching dominated game two as freshman
Chelsey Parkins tossed a two-hit shutout that made Kaplan's sixth inning solo shot to left field stand up for a 1-0 victory.
Meanwhile, at Urbana, the Yellow Jacket baseball team took its opener 5-2 as freshman
Brandon Wright drove in two runs. Tuler Thompson picked got the win on the mound with 5.2 innings of solid work.
The Jackets won the nightcap 4-2 with
Trenton Porter driving in a pair of runs on a triple and solo home run.
Cody Smith drove in the game-winner with a single in the sixth.
Dustin Kincaid picked up the win and Josh Falbo threw a perfect seventh to earn his fourth save of the season.
