Yellow Jacket Freshman Tyler Hall Named MEC Pitcher of the Week

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 RIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia State's Tyler Hall is the Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week, and Urbana's Enmauel Lopez is the MEC Player of the Week, the League announced today.

Hall, a freshman from Charleston, W.Va., tossed a one-hit complete game shutout to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 5-0 win over West Liberty. Hall, who faced two over the minimum, walked one and struck out two. After giving up a single in the first inning, he did not yield a base hit the rest of the game and did not allow a baserunner to get past first base.

Lopez, a sophomore outfielder from Santo Domingo, Dominical Republic, batted .692 in his first four starts of the season last week. He went 9-for-14 with a home run, two doubles, six RBI and six runs scored. He had an on-base percentage of .733 as the Blue Knights went 2-2 in four games.

Paul Hvozdovic (Shepherd) improved to 3-0 on the year with a complete game victory vs. Concord ... Nick Bozman (Urbana) fanned 10 batters in an 8-2 win over Glenville State ... Ryan Fenwick (Fairmont State) gave up just one unearned run and struck out seven in a 1-0 loss to UVa-Wise.

Joey Miller (Concord) stretched his hitting streak to seven games going 5-for-11 against Shepherd ... Jared Clovis (Notre Dame) batted .455 and drove in four in a series against West Virginia Wesleyan ... Michael Lott (Shepherd) batted .467 in a 2-2 week against Concord.
