Yellow Jackets Women's Tennis Falls 7-0 to Division I George Mason

INSTITUTE, W.Va. — George Mason defeated West Virginia State 7–0 in a neutral-site women's tennis dual Wednesday morning in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Patriots improved to 5–4 with the victory, while the Yellow Jackets continued their search for their first win of the season.

West Virginia State showed early competitiveness in doubles play despite George Mason ultimately sweeping the three courts to claim the opening point. Amanda Menendez Thomasson and Maria Mercedes Kaltakian battled at No. 1 doubles before falling 6–3, while Daniela Cruzado Fretel and Talia Nichols pushed their opponents to a tight 7–6 decision on Court 2.

The Yellow Jackets continued to compete in singles action, highlighted by a pair of three-set battles. Kaltakian delivered one of the team's strongest performances at No. 2 singles, winning the opening set before the match was decided in a super tiebreak. Carlota Pamies Petit also claimed the first set at No. 6 singles and forced a deciding frame. Despite the effort, George Mason secured all six singles matches to complete the 7–0 victory.
