The senior members of the WVSU men's and women's tennis teams were honored Sunday with a ceremony prior to a match against Salem.
Former Capital High standout
Logan Jarrett is the lone senior on the men's squad. Jarrett plays the number one singles and doubles spots for the Yellow Jackets and has been the squad's captain the past two seasons.
The nationally ranked WVSU women's team has three seniors who will finish stellar careers in the NCAA tournament next month.
Brittany Franco,
Charlotte Sandy, and
Diana Cotoros each ends their WVSU playing career with four conference championships. Sandy and Cotoros were each named All-COnference performers twice with Franco earning first team honors all four years. Franco was also named Freshman of the Year in 2012 and Mountain East Conference Player of the Year in 2015.
The quartet never lost to a conference opponent and have a 43-0 record in those matches.
Each player received a large poster of themselves and flowers from Athletic Director
Nate Burton and Coach
John Simms.
The men dropped a heartbreaker 6-3 losing two matches in tough setters. The women rolled to a 9-0 victory.
