Visiting Urbana had trouble getting to Institute Thursday night due to a traffic jam resulting from an accident.

The Blue Knights ran into even more problems once the games began as WVSU's hoops squads rolled to wins in both games at Walker Center.

In the opener the Yellow Jacket women jumped out to a huge 63-19 halftime lead and coasted to a 107-71 victory for their fifth win in their last seven contests.

Alexus Hobbs led WVSU with 21 points, Rachel Ward added 19, Laura Szorenyi 15, and Deyahnna Styles 11 while Shealyn Shafer pulled down 16 rebounds.

The Jacket men also took an early lead and were ahead 49-35 after the first half on the way to posting an 86-71 win.

Keith Harris led the way with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Frank Webb contributed 14 points, Markee Mazyck 12, and Cody Morris 10.
