Box Score 2 Forget about turning on the heat, the Shepherd women's basketball team provided plenty Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Rams hit 72.7 percent from the floor and 65.1 percent for the game on the way to a 103-79 win over the Yellow Jackets.
Making matters even worse Shepherd hit 11 of 16 3-pointers.
Deyahnna Styles paced the WVSU effort with 20 points while Shealynn Shafer added 15 points and eight rebounds.
The men's contest proved to be a much closer affair.
Damion Harris gave the Yellow Jackets a one-point lead with a thunderous dunk just seconds into the second half and the squads battled back and forth the rest of the period.
WVSU tied teh score one last time with a
Markee Mazyck free throw making the count 65-65 with 1:54 to play.
But the Rams hit six-of-seven free throws and a driving lay-up down the stretch to come away with a 73-68 victory.
Mazyck finished with 29 points to lead WVSU.
