The WVSU men's tennis team defeated Fairmont State 4-1 Thursday in a first round match in the WVIAC tournament being played in Charleston.
     Jacob Jones and Mason Walling teamed to win at first doubles with Branden McClain amd Micah Monk taking second doubles.
     Walling and Jones then took their singles matches to clinch the outcome.
      The Yellow Jackets now face top-seeded Bluefield State at 9 a.m. Friday morning at the Schoenbaum Tennis Complex in Kanawha City.
