WEST CANTON, Ohio — West Virginia State tennis faced a tough outing in a road doubleheader as both the women's and men's squads came up short. The women's team was swept aside in doubles but earned a consolation point when State's Amanda Menendez-Thomasson secured a straight-sets victory at the No. 1 position. On the men's side, the Jackets battled hard yet ultimately dropped the match overall, with their lone highlight coming at No. 5 singles where Heinrich Lindeque fought through for a win.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Sept. 27–28 at the Fairmont State Invitational.
