BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- WVSU Women's Tennis earned their first Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, of the season when the conference office announced that
Amanda Menendez Thomasson earned the award for this past weekend's efforts.
Thomason helped lead West Virginia State to a key conference win over Davis & Elkins with victories in both singles and doubles play. Competing at the No. 1 position, she earned a 6-3, 6-2 straight-set win in singles and partnered for a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles with
Stephanie Gopar. Menendez Thomason's performance helped secure half of the points for WVSU as the Yellow Jackets topped the Senators in MEC play on the road.
