Women's Soccer draws with West Virginia Wesleyan

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- West Virginia State (10-3-3, 9-2-2 MEC) and West Virginia Wesleyan (5-8-3, 3-7-3 MEC) drew at the end of 90 minutes on Wednesday evening, with neither team able to put the ball into the opposing team's goal. Laura Galindo made three saves on the evening for State while Wesleyan's Paige Miller stopped all nine shots on target.

Billie Jean Davies put all three of her shots on target. Eight other Yellow Jackets had one shot on goal in the match. Leila Karam picked up her fourth yellow card of the season in her 29 minutes of action.

West Virginia State remains in second place in the Mountain East Conference South Division standings going into the final week of the regular season. The top two seeds in each division will host a quarterfinal match in the playoffs while the top remaining seed will host the semifinals and final.

West Virginia State will host the Davis & Elkins Senators on Sunday, Nov. 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Lakin-Ray Field at Dickerson Stadium.
