INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The West Virginia State University women's tennis team was 1-of-48 teams selected by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee to participate in the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship on Tuesday night. The Yellow Jackets will make their 14th appearance in the tournament since becoming a NCAA DII member in 1997.
West Virginia State was granted the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic Region and paired with sixth-seeded Mercyhurst out of the PSAC. WVSU was grouped in the Atlantic Region No. 2 bracket along with second-seeded Charleston and seventh-seeded Shaw out of the CIAA. UC will host the regional tournament as the highest seed. The semifinals will take place on May 6th and the final will occur on May 7th.
The winning team from each of the 16 regional site will advance to the finals of the NCAA DII Championship, May 17-21, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will serve as hosts.
