BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia State Soccer dropped a 2-0 decision to league foe West Virginia Wesleyan over the weekend, slipping to 1-3-1 on their inaugural season.

The Bobcats replied with back-to-back shots eight minutes later, breaking the blank on a shot from Wesleyan defender Orian Bar that found the back of the net. Â
Maslak booted another shot halfway through the half, and not even a minute later her former community college teammate
Naomi Waithira went on-target, but State was kept out of the net.
The two squads tied in shots with seven apiece, and the Yellow Jackets actually out-targeting WVWC with five shots on-goal to the Bobcats' three.
Maslak and Waithira paced the squad with two shots each, with the others coming from sophomore
Paula Murcia, local senior
Brooklyn Pritt, and forward
Juliana Campos Lima coming off the bench.
State returns to action Friday, hosting Glenville State at Shawnee Sports Complex in Institute. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m., and live stats and video will be available.
