Women's Tennis Advances to MEC Championship
West Virginia State University advanced to the Mountaineast Conference Championship game for the 5th straight year defeating the 3rd seeded West Virginia Wesleyan College 4-1. The Jackets trailed 1-0 after doubles competition, but won the first four singles competition to secure the win. Junior Kierstin Hensley got momentum started winning he 1st singles point with a 6-0,6-1 win over WVWC Sai Sakomoto. Senior Laura Isbey scored the 4th point ending the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over the Bobcats Cecilia Martinez.

West Virginia State and the University of Charleston will play for the MEC Tournament crown for the 5th straight year. UC won the regularly season match, beating State 5-2 on April 22, 2019. These are the top two ranked teams in the Atlantic Region, with the Golden Eagles holding the top spot.

The Match will start tomorrow at 11:00 AM in Huntington, WV.
