Softball Takes Two in Salem Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The WVSU softball team improved to 15-5 on the season by picking up a pair of wins in the Salem, Virginia tournament Saturday.

The Jackets opened the day with an 8-4 win over Ursuline. Summer Sword led the way going 2-for-4 with a grand slam. Allyson Funk contributed three hits with Dee Dee Loftis and Nichole Brown adding two each. Zoey Carte drove in two runs.

The Yellow Jackets beat Shippensburg 9-3 later in the day as Calli Norton and Chelsey Parkins combined to pitch the victory.
