Box Score    The Yellow Jacket women's backetball team put up a good fight at #19 West Liberty Monday evening before finally falling 78-73.

   WVSU led 38-35 at halftime and 41-40 midway through the third quarter behind the scoring of freshman Laura Szorenyi and senior Deyahhna Styles.

    But the Hilltoppers (10-1, 5-0) gradually pulled away in the closing minutes of the period though to take a 56-49 lead going into the final 10 minutes.

     The Jackets (5-6, 2-3) managed to rally some but it was not enough as the margin bounced between five and 10 points in the fourth quarter and West Liberty hung on for the win.

    Szorenyi paced the WVSU attack with 20 points while Styles added 14 and Shealynn Shafer 13.

    Alexus Hobbs had seven rebounds and Shafer six to lead WVSU on the boards.

    The Jackets travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 5:30 p.m. game Wednesday and then return home to face Shepherd at 2 p.m. Sunday.
