Women's Basketball Opens Tournament Play at Glenville State

        The WVSU women's basketball team opens play in the Mountain East Conference tournament Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Glenville State.

         BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The seedings and pairings for the 2015 Mountain East Conference Tournament have been finalized after the conclusion of today's action.

Three teams split the regular season championship with West Liberty, Shepherd and Charleston tying atop the standings with identical 17-5 records. The Hilltoppers earned the top seed via tiebreakers, with Shepherd seeded second and Charleston seeded third. Wheeling Jesuit earned the fourth and final first-round by earning the tiebreaker over Fairmont State. 

After FSU in fifth, Notre Dame finished sixth, Glenville State was seventh and Concord earned the right to the the final first-round home game by claiming the No. 8 seed. UVa-Wise is seeded ninth, West Virginia State is 10th, West Virginia Wesleyan is 11th and Urbana is 12th. 

The first round games will be played on Tuesday, March 3.
