Box Score The Yellow Jackets dropped a 55-7 decision to visiting Concord Saturday afternoon at Dickerson Stadium.
WVSU moved the ball early on the highly rated Mountain Lion defense and ended up with 295 yards of total offense but were unable to convert some scoring opportunities. Meanwhile the Concord offense found paydirt on three of its first four possessions to take an early 21-0 lead.
"They are a physical team on both sides of the ball, they've got some explosive receivers and some good running backs," WVSU Head Coach
Jon Anderson said. "We needed to find a way to get some stops today and we didn't do a very good job of that defensively."
The Mountain Lions finished with 585 yards of total offense and did not turn the ball over all day.
"They are what we thought they were," Anderson said. "We'll get things figured out, our kids are resilient, and our kids will continue to play and learn and grow."
Freshman
Matt Kinnick completed 18-of-26 pass attempts for 159 yards and sophomore D'Von Dorsey came on late in the game to hit 6-of-11 passes for 39 yards.

The Yellow Jackets (1-1) travel to West Liberty for a 1 p.m. contest against the Hilltoppers (1-1) next Saturday.
