Football Week 2 Opponent: Concord

The Mountain Lions travel to Institute riding high after last week's 54-27 win over visiting Glenville State.
Sophomore quarterback Brian Novak threw for 304 yards and was named Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
The last Concord quarterback to throw for over 300 yards in a game was Albert Rose in 2012. He is now a junior and has moved to wide receiver for the Mountain Lions.
That was Concord's highest offensive output since 2010. The Mountain Lions have now scored over 30 points in four straight games dating back to last season.
Concord pulled a little trickery last week when junior placekicker Andy Ellington hit Davon McGill for a 27-yard touchdown on a fake field goal attempt to make the score 23-6 in the second quarter.
The Mountain Lions return four lineman and four other defensive players after finishing third nationally a year ago in pints allowed per game (14.3) and yards allowed per game (268.1).
Including Novak all 11 offensive starters return this season. Key players on that side of the ball include junior running back Calvinaugh Jones who ran for 1,031 yards in 2013 and 97 last week against the Pioneers. Also back is senior center Rustin Mayorga, an All-MEC first team selection last year.
Novak's 21 completions in Concord's 36-3 win in 2013 were the most of any quarterback against the Yellow Jackets last season.
