      Trailing 36-34 the Yellow Jacket women's basketball team used a little 8-0 spurt midway through the second half to take a 42-36 lead and held steady down the stretch to take a 66-60 win over visiting Concord Saturday afternoon.
      In the nightcap the WVSU men could not overcome a 9:16 scoreless stretch overlapping halftime in dropping an 82-66 decision to the Bobcats.
      Lexy Carson's 25  points and Asia Greenleaf's 10 point, 15 rebound, eight blocks paced the women.
      Dimitrios Jelen-Joy had the hot hand for the men hitting six 3-pointers and finishing with 20 points.
     The men led 31-26 with 5:16 to play in the first half but would not get another point until Anthony Grant hit a short jumper with 16:00 to play in the game to make the score 47-33.
      Steve Wing added 11 points for the men.
      In the opener the teams battled back and forth until Carson hit a driving lay-up followed by a 3-pointer and a Rachel Ward 3-pointer gave the Yellow Jackets that six-point marging with 11:06 to play.
