Box Score The WVSU volleyball squad defeated intra-county rival Charleston 3-1 on the road Tuesday night.
The Yellow Jackets rallied from 20-19 down in the first set to win six of the next eight points for a 25-22 win.
In the second set they led most of the way in picking up another 25-2 victory.
The host Golden Eagles took set three and used that momentum to jump out to a 10-5 lead in set four.
The Yellow Jackets slowly climbed back into the set though and took a 16-15 lead on a
Hayley Kirby kill and never trailed agin in taking the set 25-23 and the match.
Kirby finished with nine kills while
Sydney Davis turned in 10.
Anneelise Albrecht had 18 sets and
Allison Tumey 13.
Defensively WVSU players turned ins everal strong performances with Albrecht and
Cassie Ford making 16 digs each and Kirby, Tumey, and
Tori Strong 12 apiece.
