The Yellow Jacket women's basketball teamed picked up its sixth consecutive win by upsetting Fairmont State the second place team in the WVIAC, 72-62 Saturday night in Fleming Hall.
Senior Jasmine Blanton led the way with 27 points while Asia-Bryanne Greenleaf and India Taste added 12 each.
Trailing 38-33 midway through the second half the Yellow Jackets (10-11, 9-8 in WVIAC) took off on a 14-0 run, nine of the points coming from Greenleaf, for a 47-38 lead and the Falcons (14-8, 12-5 in WVIAC) were never able to recover.
This marks the longest winning streak for the women's program since a seven-game stretch early in the 2003-04 season.
