The Yellow Jacket softball team opened its season with a pair of wins Friday in Raleigh, N.C.
Hannah Griffith and Victoria Crawford each had two hits as WVSU defeated Lock Haven 6-1.
Griffith and Sydney Kaplan drove in two runs apiece.
Then Crawford, Desiree Giffin, and Mattie Best each pounded out three hits in a 13-3 win over Fayetteville State.
Giffin also drove in three runs each while Crawford, Best, and Alana Weyant each knocked in two.
Senior pitchers Sara Pelegreen and Kelsey Lorraine each picked up a win.
Snow caused the cancelation of the rest of the tournament.
