Softball Advances with First NCAA Tournament Win

The WVSU softball team defeated Indiana (Pa.) 5-0 in a first round NCAA Atlantic Regional game in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, Friday afternoon.

Junior pitcher Kelsey Lorraine struck out 12 while going the distance.

Poppy Ramey singled to drive in two runs in the fifth and the Yellow Jackets added three more in the seventh as Alana Weyant hit a solo home run and Brittany Hyatt and Kayla Sturms each drove in a run.

It is the first win ever in the NCAA Tournament for a WVSU softball squad.
