Paola Maradei Mejía enters her first season as the graduate assistant for the women's volleyball team in 2023.
Prior to coming to State, Mejía attended Norfolk State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's in health service management. During her time at Norfolk State, she was ranked eighth in NCAA Division I's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for total blocks during the 2022 season. During the 2020-2021 season, she was on the AD's Honor Roll and was ranked sixth in blocks in the MEAC.
Mejía attended Trinidad State College in Trinidad, Colo. where she graduated with an associate degree in arts and an associate degree in general studies in 2019. She achieved all-region honors in 2018 and 2019, making the All-Region 5 team in 2018 and 2019 and being ranked first in NJCAA for solo blocks in 2018. She was also All-American Academic second team in 2018 in NJCAA.
Mejía is fluent in three languages, including english, spanish, and portuguese.
