Glen Butler enters his second year as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at West Virginia State University in 2020.
Butler specializes in goalkeeper coaching and spent one year as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Marshall University prior to joining the coaching staff at West Virginia State. Before moving to Marshall, he was a graduate assistant at Frostburg State. He assisted on both the men’s and women’s soccer teams while splitting his time as the Director of Goalkeeper Coaching for the Liverpool Football Club International Academy in Maryland.
Butler previously served as a professional coach at both UK Elite Soccer and FC USA Soccer Club.  He was also the head coach of the U18-19 men’s and women’s teams at the Total Football Academy (U.K.).
Butler’s coaching career started at Canterbury Christ Church University (U.K.) where he also played on the first team. He earned numerous honors there as both a coach and a player. He also coached Alletis Angels Youth FC and played for Dartford Town FC during the same time period.
Butler holds a FA Level 3/UEFA ‘B’ Professional License as well as FA Level 2 and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 2 licenses.
He graduated from Frostburg State with a Master’s of Education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Canterbury Christ Church University.
Butler grew up playing for the youth academy at Charlton Athletic F.C. in south-east London.
