Lester Raines has been an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at West Virginia State University for a number of years.
Raines joined WVSU after serving as an assistant under both Jason Gee and Greg White at the University of Charleston for 14 years.
He is a lifelong resident of Charleston, W.Va., graduating from Charleston High School in 1973 and West Virginia University Dental School in 1981.
Raines is known best as an auto dealer in the Charleston metro area. His dealerships include Lester Raines Honda and Lester Raines Mazda. He is a major sponsor of the Mountain East Conference.
Raines assists with the West Virginia State men’s basketball team because he enjoys mentoring young men and coaching the sport.
