Larry Vance enters his third season as an Assistant Baseball Coach at West Virginia State University in 2022.
He was a pitcher for the Yellow Jackets from 1981 until 1984. During his four years at WVSU, the baseball team won the conference twice.
Vance coached high school baseball for 18 years. He was the head coach at Man High School (Man, W.Va.) for 10 years. During his tenure at Man, Vance led his teams to six State Championship appearances and captured the State Title in 2014. He was named Coach of the Year in 2014 as well.
Vance is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in the infantry for nine years. He reached the rank of staff sergeant in the 10th Mountain Division, 4th Infantry Division before retiring from service.
