INSTITUTE – Joe Dailey of the West Virginia State University football team and Lilly Adkins of the WVSU volleyball team have been named Mountain East Conference Players of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, for their performances over the past week.
 
Dailey led the Yellow Jackets to their largest nonconference home win since 2008 on Saturday, accounting for five total touchdowns, including three passing scores and two rushing scores. He finished 7-of-10 passing for 109 yards through the air while adding 148 all-purpose yards. This is his first career weekly honor from the MEC.
 
Adkins helped WVSU to a 3-0 opening weekend at the PSAC East Crossover, averaging 4.62 digs and 0.92 assists per set. She opened the weekend with 18 digs and three assists in a win over Jefferson, recorded 26 digs and six assists in a five-set victory over West Chester, and closed the tournament with 16 digs and three assists in a four-set win over Millersville. This is her first career weekly honor from the MEC.
