INSTITUTE -- The West Virginia State University men's tennis program has been selected as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Teams. In addition to the team selection, five WVSU athletes achieved individual honors.
Among the men's players who earned this award were
Wacil El Hanafi,
Axel Dormann,
Patchara Suklian,
Ben Steinhoefel and Johan Karlsson.
"I could not be more proud of the student athletes for putting in the hard work in the classroom," Head Coach
Andre Cunningham said. "Each year we continue to have tremendous success in the classroom and we're continuing to build on the tennis court towards consistent success. Congratulations to the student-athletes for a wonderful year in the classroom and on the court!"
In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 GPA for the current academic year. For the team award, the team GPA needs to be 3.20 or above.
