INSTITUTE, W. Va. – For the first time in program history, the West Virginia State University men's tennis team has qualified for the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional tournament. The announcement was made Monday night via a selection show on ncaa.com. 

The Yellow Jackets are the six seed in the tournament, and will face the PSAC champions Jefferson on Monday. The four-team regional will be played at Fairmont State, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals, which will be hosted in Surprise, Ariz. 

The Yellow Jackets will enter the tournament with a 10-6 record. WVSU features a pair of All-Mountain East Conference honorees in Forkane Lebdi (first team) and Niclas Naedele (second team). Lebdi brings a 11-7 record into the tournament, while Naedele is 9-9 in singles play this season.
