SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — The West Virginia State University baseball team was ranked No. 10 in the Atlantic Region in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason Top 10 Poll, released ahead of the 2026 season.

The Yellow Jackets were one of three Mountain East Conference programs to appear in the regional rankings, joining Point Park (No. 6) and Frostburg State (No. 8), as West Virginia State earned preseason recognition following a strong 2025 campaign.

In addition to the regional ranking, West Virginia State was picked to finish third in the South Division in the Mountain East Conference Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Yellow Jackets will open the 2026 season on Friday, Jan. 31 with a trip to Johnson City, Tenn. for a non-conference clash against Kentucky State.
