BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — West Virginia State University placed a total of 74 student-athletes on the Mountain East Conference academic honor rolls for the Fall 2025 semester, the league announced.
Forty-One Yellow Jackets earned Academic All-MEC distinction after posting a grade-point average between 3.70 and 4.00, while an additional 33 student-athletes were recognized on the Commissioner's Honor Roll with GPAs ranging from 3.25 to 3.69.
West Virginia State's academic success extended beyond individual honors, as the department posted a 3.05 overall GPA for the Fall 2025 semester, marking the 15th consecutive semester in which Yellow Jacket student-athletes have recorded a department GPA above 3.0.
In total, 35 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.00 GPA, while 180 student-athletes were recognized as Dr. John L. Fuller, Sr. Scholar Athletes for achieving a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher. All nine WVSU athletic programs recorded team GPAs above 3.0, with 61 percent of all student-athletes reaching that benchmark.
Several programs led the way academically, including women's tennis (3.63), men's tennis (3.54) and women's soccer (3.49)
