Institute, W. Va. -- Yellow Jackets Men's and Women's Cross Country teams participated in the Bethany College Invitational, and not without making their presence known. According to Athletic.net
Kennedi Green is now the School Record holder in not only the 5K, but set the 6K as well this weekend with a time of 25:18.6. Teammate
Gisele Abascal also finished better than the previous School Record with a 27:14.7, followed by
Sarah Emelike and
Sunny Oyibo with times of 31:22.9 and 33:06.4. Unfortunately, the Lady Yellow Jackets final runner
Trinity Charles was unable to finish the race. The Men's side had two athletes finish inside the top thirty-five of the leader board.
Emmanuel Ojo posted a 30:30.02, earning himself 27th overall, while
Adenjii Abbott was thirty-fifth to cross the finish line with a time of 31:08.5.
Day'Vonne Singleton was just outside of the top-fifty, finishing fifty-third overall in just under thirty-six minutes.

West Virginia State Cross Country's next event will be on October 4. The Yellow Jackets will be attending the Cedric Walker HBCU Invitational in Cary, N.C.
