INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Nearly 80 individuals participated in the annual "Old Gold Fund Golf Scramble" held on Tuesday, June 10, at Edgewood Country Club in Sissonville, W.Va.
The annual event is a four-person scramble format tournament for individuals of all playing abilities and is a tremendous way for Yellow Jacket supporters to enjoy a great day of golf and help raise funds for WVSU Athletics.
In addition to the 18 holes of golf, all registrants received a swag bag, complimentary range balls, lunch and refreshments on the course.
BSN Sports came out on top as winner with a score of 53, followed by WesBanco with a score of 55. West Virginia Golf Association took third place with a score of 57. Video Productions won the sought-after Nike golf Bag for winning closest to the pin.
The event is expected to raise between $9,000 to $11,000 which will go towards funding additional expenses for WVSU student-athletes. The WVSU Athletics Department would like to thank Edgewood Country Club for hosting the event, presenting sponsor Nitro Construction Services, as well as all the other sponsors and participants that helped make this event a success.
