INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- Despite a determined effort, West Virginia State fell to Glenville State in an NCATA dual meet on March 20, 2025, with a final score of 250.865 to 207.040. The Yellow Jackets (2-5) struggled to match the Pioneers (5-2) in nearly every phase, trailing 90.95-72.15 after the first half before Glenville State pulled away in the latter events.
WVSU showed flashes of strong execution, particularly in the Pyramid event, where they earned a 9.15 in the Pyramid Heat and an 8.30 in the Synchronized Heat. However, execution inconsistencies in the Tumbling and Team Event categories proved costly. In the Tumbling segment, WVSU posted a 41.200 overall, significantly trailing Glenville State's 48.375. Meanwhile, in the Team Event, Glenville State's 84.29 outpaced WVSU's 70.44, cementing the victory.
Despite the loss, WVSU will look to build on its strong moments and refine execution as the regular season concludes against West Liberty on March 28 as the Hilltoppers from West Liberty enter the Walker Convocation Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
