WVSU Acrobatics & Tumbling drops final meet of 2024 season

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- West Virginia State's final acrobatics & tumbling meet of the season was against the Frostburg State Bobcats inside the Walker Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets fell to the Bobcats by a final of 267.670-164.715. Frostburg State's final score was 21.3 points below their starting value while State was almost 75 points shy of their starting value.

WVSU scored 19.55 in the compulsory event while Frostburg State scored 38. In the next three events, the Bobcats lost less than a point from starting value in each event, scoring 28.95, 29.5, and 27.75 in the Acro, Pyramid, and Toss events respectfully. WVSU's scores in those events were 18.95, 24.55, and 23.30. WVSU did score over a 9.0 in the open heat of the Pyramid event. State scored a 35.575 in the tumbling event, topping out at 8.275 in the solo 6-Element Pass heat. The Bobcats scored a total of 54.65 in the tumbling event. 

The Bobcats took the team event by an 88.82 - 42.79 score. 

West Virginia State loses just two seniors from the team, and the Yellow Jackets hope to build on the foundation laid after their first ever season competing.
