WVSU Acrobatics & Tumbling fall at home to Glenville

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State's acrobatics & tumbling team fell to the Glenville State Pioneers on Wednesday by a final score of 263.585-160.495. Glenville State only scored four total heats below a 9.0 out of 18 total heats. 

WVSU fell behind early in the Compulsory event with GSU getting a pair of 9.9 scores while WVSU's total score in the event was a 7.25. In the Acro event, GSU again bottomed out at a 9.1 while WVSU's top score was a 7.0. WVSU broke the 9.0 mark in the Pyramid event, scoring a 9.25 in the open heat of the event, but GSU again took the heat with a 9.9. GSU led 94.35-58.50 at the halftime break.

GSU continued the trend of nines in the Toss event while WVSU's top score in the event was a 7.3. GSU's streak of 9.0 or higher scores was broken at nine heats after being given an 8.7 in the Duo Pass heat of the Tumbling event. WVSU's top score in the event was a 8.125 in the six element pass solo heat. In the final event of the night, WVSU scored a 51.27 while GSU scored a 90.46.

WVSU will make the trip to Glenville on April 2 for the second leg of the home-and-home. The penultimate meet of the season is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
