BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State University running back Joel Felder (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Stranahan) earned the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week Award, presented by The Health Plan, for his outstanding performance at Morehead State last Thursday.

Felder rushed for over 100 yards for the fifth time in his career and fourth-straight game to build upon his success from last season. He carried the ball 15 times for 117 yards to average 7.8 yards per rush against the Eagles. He broke off a 71-yard run for a touchdown after finding a crease up the middle to put the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard for the first time in the game.

Felder also caught four passes for 46 yards to account for 163 yards of total offense on the night. He reeled in a 24-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. He was responsible for both of the touchdowns scored in the first half by the Yellow Jackets.
