• 2023 D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Softball Team

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the 2023 All-Atlantic Region Softball Teams on Tuesday afternoon. West Virginia State's Kasey Murphy earned Second Team All-Region honors for her role as a designated player this season.

Murphy, a graduate student from Ironton, Ohio, was named Second Team All-Region by the D2CCA for the second-straight season. She ranked in the top 10 in the Mountain East Conference in batting average (.381), slugging percentage (.683), OPS (1.100), runs batted in (47), doubles (15), and home runs (9) this year. 

Murphy played in 175 games with 162 starts in her five-year career with the Yellow Jackets. She posted a .357 batting average with 32 home runs, 130 RBIs and 101 runs scored in her illustrious career at State. She also recorded a 3.28 ERA in 476.1 innings pitched with 322 strikeouts.
